Reflections Melt Ice

When I stated this blog, I did so as I way to talk to myself. Things happen during the day; thoughts whisper in my brain; feelings churn; sometimes they don't let me sleep. Sending my thoughts out into the universe via satellites and human magic, has been a way to release the things that crowd in me asking to be heard.

It would be nice to sit down with a loved one over a glass of wine or a cup of tea after a long day, to deconstruct our process. Our thoughts. Our feelings. Our victories. Our goals. Our reliefs. Our fears. This blog has become one of my beloved ones.

Then little by little, I found other blogs, and other beloved ones. People who need to express their thoughts, their feelings, their victories, their goals, their reliefs, their fears. They have husbands and children, or children grown, or husbands, or lovers, or friends, or whole families, or no one.

They share their art, their experience, their perspective. Through the satellites and the human magic, they speak.

And I have been drawn to their blogs, your blogs, by your humanity, your creativity, your longing.

I read.

I smile.

I tear.

I laugh.

I gasp at the beauty of your words and images.

I shake my fist at your shadows.

I comment.

I feel. Like. I have a whole world of people to share with. To exchange thoughts with. To be inspired by. And reminded.

No matter where, or who, or why. We all share one purpose. And that is life.

Isn't it wonderful? :)

I still remember when I first started to blog in 2005. I didn't even know how it all worked; I just needed to get my thoughts down. It ended up connecting me with so many amazing people!

It is amazing! Blogging has changed my life...isn't that strange? But I have learned more about myself through others. This is a great world to reach out to and learn from. I especially like the fact that I visit people all over the world and find we are all on the same journey...different paths...but on a journey.

I was chatting with Anna about this the other day--blogging is a lifestyle! The people you meet, the encounters you have, the art you soak in and thoughts that we share--the possibilities here are endless! How exciting is that?!

I remember being REALLY bummed about college--I felt like I'd been ripped off. I had been assured for years that the awkwardness of high school would slip away and I'd be whisked off to an intellectual and artistic wonderland. This wasn't the case. Where was the fun I was supposed to be having? Where were the people I was supposed to share ideas with? Where were the friends I was supposed to be making for life? So I asked HER to give me some sort of direction to find some kindred spirits, to help me escape loneliness. I had the thought, "I'll start a blog..." I didn't think much of it at the time but suddenly "POOF!" Here you all are! SHE is crafty like that. ;)

Much Joy, Many Blissings~*

It is wonderful Genie. Through the power of the internet, we connect and get to know each other through our writings and we are blessed and feel such a sense of community.

I sometimes wonder though (and ask whether you believe this to be true as well) that because writing is such a personal thing and it sometimes reveals the inner sanctums of our being, whether our blogfriends know us better than our friends in real life. Something to ponder, huh?

But, you, dear heart, are one of those whose heart is just magical and so full of light that I love coming here and have been blessed to have known you. You write what many of us feel and it centers us.

I totally agree with you. I had no idea what kind of a community Blogging was until 4 years into my blog. Slow learner.

It is not like traditional publishing at all. It is not like a private, paper journal. It's something all together new and I predict that the years will see everyone keeping a blog as an online identity in a world that is more frequently happening via computer.

It's pretty cool
