Dance Break

Hello Beautiful People!

I am surfacing from the whirlwind of life. It has been a busy week for me what with wrapping up the school year, getting ready for summer school (yes, you read that right, summer school) and enjoying some quality time outside with friends.

A department pool party filled with laughter.
Taking a long leisurely lunch on the last day with some friends and colleagues which involved a couple of Coronas! :)
Hanging out with my little man Tristan who fell asleep in my arms.
Unpacking the kitchen for friends who have moved into an amazing house with a HUGE back yard backing into a ravine. Sitting, chatting having some beer in the shade of the trees after working hard.
Sleeping in, reading, going for a walk and later for a burger and ice cream with my neighbor.

I could get used to this lifestyle.

Most importantly. It's Monday, and I don't have to go to work until Thursday! But my cup is half full so I will enjoy the break and recharge for a month of summer school that will pay for my renovations, and converting my garden from a jungle to a manageable oasis! :)

And since it's Monday... The tradition here at Reality Insanity, is to dance, and who better to dance with but the King of Dance and Pop?

May he rest in peace no matter what our opinion of him and his life is. I tend to leave judgement to higher powers, especially when I don't have any idea what the real facts are. So without further ado, in case you forgot how this man has entertained us throughout most of his sad life, and how he has influenced dance and music today... I give you Michael Jackson.

LOVE your new blog layout!

Congrats on surviving the school year, and wow, sounds like your summer will be busy too, but enjoyable.

I commend you on your words regarding MJ. (I failed to be as open-minded and enlightened as you regarding the whole thing.)

You are a model of non-judgement, mature and postive mindfulness.

xo
Enjoy that ice-cream - you deserve it!

I LOVE the new look Genie!! It's soft and inviting. :)

As for MJ I pretty much feel exactly as you. I have no authority to judge this man. I have always been a huge fan and have always prayed for peace to find him. I'm sure he has it now. :)

Love Ya!

happy monday! good day to dance, and to, as you said, focus on the joy that he brought so many people. i'm not a big fan of mj's music, but there is no denying that he had a huge imapct and a lot of talent. also a good day to give thanks- for survival, for moving forward, for dancing!

Yes it is so pretty and soft and comfortable over here at your blog! I could sit here in this pink glow all day.

When I saw MJ had died so young, I told my husband and we both thought what a shame. Who knows what happened - who even knows if he was sad or content with his life. But what has surprised me is all the hoopla - I was surprised so many people have so much good to say now, especially the media. I found it to be phony - but maybe I am wrong about that. If all these folks really did love him this much, I hope that he knew that when he was alive.

I'm back! I just wanted you to know I didn't mean I thought YOU were phony - I love You!

When one is prompted to leave such a long comment, and then come back for a second one too, perhaps one needs to write their own blog post on the topic at hand. I never liked or hated MJ in life, but something about the reaction to his death is making me real pissy! (Oh god, I can't stand anymore deep thoughts and introspection as to why I get so pissy about odd things ...!)

Thank you ladies! It was time for a new look at Reality Insanity! I have wanted to change it up for a while but didn't because I would have lost a lot of my widgets. Then Wreck This Journal happened and I learned to let go of attachment!

All my awards are gone, but they are still on my hard drive and in my heart! :)

Sorrow - Thriller is the single most watched video of all time; not a wonder that is the one you know :)

Boho - I am far from being a model of anything. lol! You haven't seen me at my cattiest :)

I grew up with MJ, loving his music and dancing to his videos. When all that hoopla broke out, I was a shocked as anyone. And taken aback.I was most shocked to find out the years of abuse and exploitation he had to endure. He was obviously damaged by it, to what extent, I don't think anyone of us will ever know. He was a very rich, very giving and emotionally unstable man. Easy prey.

Easy prey to the media, starving for money, and where there is dirt, there is money. Easy prey to whose who would try to milk the situation to their monetary advantage.

It's just a mess.

Lisa - I agree with you woman! The media was the first to persecute him in so many ways and times. The media made his name into mud. With half-truths and innuendo. And the public bought it. SO yes, the hypocrisy is sickening.

I know you didn't mean I was phony. LOL! I love you too! :) As those who know me in real will testify, I have always given MJ the benefit of the doubt as there has never been real proof of anything. That being said, no form of child abuse is excusable, nor do I condone it.

There are a lot of us who loved MJ for the joy he brought to the world, and will remember him for that. The rest is not for us to decide. :)

Love your new look - after I redid my bog - I popped over to see what you were up to and .... WOW! Talk about being on the same wavelength.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you for your support .... I just realized that I've been working through the problem with my poetry and with music and watching Michael dance is always a real upper.

About MJ - one of my co-workers aged about 19 asked me who was that singer guy that died!!!! I never realized that some people may not have known his music. He was so talented and influenced both song and dance. Yet, I don't believe that he had much happiness.

Woo-hoo, love your new look!

This was a good video clip to post (I had not seen this one). It showed his true artistry on the platform where he felt most comfortable. The man took on a whole different persona when singing/dancing and he constantly amazed with his dance moves. Personally, I could never tire of watching him dance. He was a troubled, gifted soul....

I love your new blog look Genie!

Your words about Michael are beautiful and exactely how I feel. He had a very hard life growing up and never really had a childhood. I think he was very misunderstood.

The media did nothing but make a fool out of him while he was alive and now they are doing nothing but praise him. This side of it annoys me too.

Take care and enjoy your break :)

I love, LOVE, LOVE your new blog look, Genie!!

I grew up with Michael Jackson and I loved his music and dance. He will always be that phenomenal entertainer in my eyes. I felt very sad at what he endured through his life and I don't feel I have the right to judge him either on things he may or may not have done. He was indeed a wounded soul who also did a lot of good things in his life. Thanks for your beautiful post and dance clip ~ :)

love, light and peace,
serena
