Last night on American Idol, Adam Lambert performed one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite groups: "Mad World" by Tears for Fears.
And he made every inch of my skin stand on end. I have since watched the video quite a few times, and I get the same reaction. That my friends, is Magic. I want to share this with you today. Magic in a mad world full of earthquakes, economic collapse, disease and death, there is beauty. Behold.
The videos keep getting pulled off YouTube! Lordy, the control... Hopefully this one sticks!

Today, I wish you all a great dose of magic.

I've always loved Tears for Fears. A few years ago, I stumbled upon Gary Jules's version:

Hey Sweet Genie.
Not an Adam fan at all! But I enjoyed his version of one of my all time favorite songs this week. Even this non-Adam fan agrees there was magic in it !
Hope the rest of your week is filled with magick and blooms !
Hugs !
Genie: we can no longer access the video, damn! If you find a video of this performance that we can access, let me know?
That being said, I caught it. It was phenomenal. I only caught his performance and saw the rundown of the others' at the end of the show. It looks like he not only blew it out of the park, but he left the others' in the dust. And Simon gave him a standing ovation! A STANDING OVATION! I have never, ever seen Simon give anyone a standing ovation at this point of the competition, have you?
This kid is awesome, I tell you. If he doesn't win it (and I don't think the judges will not allow it since they now have the power to keep one contestant in), I will be very surprised. Either way, the kid already has a future in music and he is going to be very, very big. And what a gorgeous face he has, doesn't he?
I adore what Adam does with these songs! David Cook was the creative master last year (although so far I'm really not diggin' his solo stuff). This year Adam is just beyond standard. His rendition of Ring Of Fire just had me picking my jaw off the floor.
