(click on image to enlarge)At first, I was going to be all practical and shizz, talking about what I want to do to change my home's space into something along the lines of what I need/want in a space. That requires architects, and builders and lots of funds. I am making small changes here and there, trying to make the most of my tiny home. Adding a floor to the basement, and using the space. Rearranging the rooms, putting in a couple of doors to make the place warmer in the winter and keep the cool air in the summer. That stuff.
But really, since this is about wishing, so why not go all out?
- I want a home near the sea, and if that isn't feasible, I want it near water. I want eternity outside my window, not another window.
- I want lots of trees to gaze at and fall in love with.
- I want airy rooms with lots of windows and lots of light, and high ceilings. Like tall glasses of water.
- I dont' need a lot of square footage. Just SPACE. Not a house compartamentalized with walls.
- I want simple decor with bold colors. Warm rooms with minimal stuff.
- I want a bathtub fit for a Queen, so I can luxuriate in it. Candle light and dreams.
- I want a kitchen that isn't merely utilitarian, but one that makes my heart quicken with the desire to cook and bake, and sit and relax, while staring out of the windows greenery.
- I want a bedroom that is both inviting and serene. Sensual and warm.

As far as your door situation--I actually removed most of the doors in my apartment and replaced them with beautiful curtains. It de-compartmentalized the space, added color and texture and does a good job of insulating the rooms. I can't wait to see what interior magick you make! :)

It is a lovely collage. I would like these things too. I would also like to see the mountains outside my window. Although I like to ride my bicycle, and for that cause it is better to live in a flat country like The Netherlands :-).

ReplyDeleteMaking a collage is so powerful...when we were looking at homes last year, I put together a dream board similar to your collage. I hung it on the wall by my computer, so I could see it everyday. I had specific pictures of things I wanted our house to have. We looked for months...then one day (and on a whim) I walked into my home! Everything on my board was in this house...it was unbelievable. My hubby looked at me and was like, huh!? How'd you do that?

ReplyDeleteMy wish would be pretty close to yours, except for the windows-Ever since I was little and watched Friday the 13th part 3(where jason jumps through the window and grabs the girl) I have had this thing with windows...probably doesn't help that I still love scary movies, but I don't want big windows:) but looking out at the water (from my small window)- I have dreamed of that!

LOL Trish. For that very reason, I don't watch any movies like that. They take away the joy I have in things I love, like windows. :) When I saw Jaws when I was a little kid, I was traumatized. I wouldn't go in the sea for the longest time, and I adore the sea. :)Welcome to my blog! :)

ReplyDeleteI have always dreamed of living in a house near the sea. It's weird because I'm not one to actually go swimming at the beach but I adore sitting on the sand, or walking along the beach looking for shells, just soaking in the sheer vastness and beauty of the ocean. It rejuvenates my soul ~ :)
I love spaciousness in a home too. It's incredible how making those small changes to your home can make a huge difference to how you feel inside. Look at me the other day, I replaced a small section of carpet in my studio, moved one of the studio desks to the left by two foot and I was in heaven. lol I'm sure your home will be perfect for YOU by the time you have finished ~ :)

I don't know Genie, I think you are one to make all your wishes come true.... of that I have no doubt! They sound wonderful and perfect and all I could think of as i was reading your list of wishes is that it sounded so much like those I would wish for myself. Universal yet personal! You go Miss G and continue visualizing and making all of those dreams come true...
